My tractor hauler 16' bed beaver tail trailer uses converted mobile home axles with 14.5" rims. Even behind my Liberty CRD this 1900lb empty weight pulls like a dream and I want to keep using it to haul my equipment.

Where can I get new tires :?:

The existing tires are at least 15 years old and I don't want to take any chances.

Are there any rims to convert them to 15" rims :?:

I don't want to buy new hubs or drums to convert to regular rims.

Will I have to hunt for take offs?

Recommendations please.

Steve

The most easy way to get tires and wheels for a trailer is a boat or RV accessory store. If you want to change size of tires and rims you can get them already assemble. You have a choice of galvanized, painted white or aluminum wheels. Happy shopping. 8)

I once built a trailer for my 38 John Deer model AR. I found these tires were kind of hard to find and only found used or take off ones

I have a local source if you are interested. He has the 14.5 tires, but was also asking the width. The brand is Galaxy and the available widths are 7, 8, or 9. He did say these tires are somewhat odd nowadays and were used mostly on old camper trailers. I also asked him if he knew how many plys they are and which width is the most common. He said the 8-14.5 was the most common and I can't remember how many many plys (I want to say 14, but that seems really duty). They sell for about $125.00 each. The store is Pomps Tire in Montgomery and my contact is Dave. Hope this helps. :D
