I just got this code, and the engine went to limp mode, 3 days before a 3000 mile trip.

Before pulling the code I tried bleeding the air from the fuel filter. Found a little bit, but not nearly enough to cause a problem. Test drove the Jeep and it made no difference.

After hooking up the computer and getting the code, I checked for chafing of the wiring harness around the back of the fuel head, and found none. Tried resetting the code and it comes back immediately. Tried unplugging the pressure sensor and the code changes to P0193: Fuel pressure sensor short to plus.

I'll take it to the dealer on Monday, but this is really put me in a panic because I'm supposed to leave on Tuesday.

Does anyone have an idea what this might be? And is there any hope of getting it fixed for the trip?

Just to close this topic, the problem turned out to be exactly what the code said. The tech checked out the electrical system and the pressure sensor was shorted internally. It took two days to get the part, which meant I had to take another vehicle on vacation. But the Jeep is running fine now.

Sorry, no pics and I didn't get the part back from them. It was done under warranty and didn't cost me a dime, so I didn't feel like pushing it.

Thanks for the follow up. Glad it was a simple fix. At least it didn't strand you on your trip.
